At Henning Mediation & Arbitration Service, our mediators are dedicated to helping people move forward. For Rob Katz, that commitment extends beyond resolving disputes, it’s about helping families rebuild their lives.
Rob is actively involved with Furnish with Love, a nonprofit founded in 2019 by his wife, Kathleen Kelly. The organization serves families transitioning out of homelessness by turning empty spaces into fully furnished, thoughtfully designed homes.
“It’s not just about furniture,” Rob explains. “It’s about creating a place where a family can feel settled, comfortable, and proud.”
Furnish with Love takes a unique, holistic approach. Working with partner agencies, the organization identifies families who are ready for a fresh start, particularly those with children, and ensures they have not only the essentials, but a space that truly feels like home. Each project includes furniture, décor, and design services, so when a family walks through the door, everything is in place.
Since its founding, the organization has grown into a strong, community-driven effort, supported by a 10-person board and a large network of volunteers. Today, Furnish with Love furnishes one to two homes each month; each one is a fresh start for a family in need.
Rob has played an important role behind the scenes, helping establish the organization and continuing to serve on its board, advising on legal and insurance matters. In 2021, he also purchased an office building with warehouse space, which now serves as the organization’s hub, providing both storage for furnishings and a base of operations.
That behind-the-scenes support reflects the same thoughtful, solution-oriented mindset Rob brings to his work as a mediator. When he helps clients navigate complex disputes, his focus is on creating stability and setting people up for long-term success.
Together, their work is making a tangible difference across Atlanta, one home at a time.
